A couple weeks ago our two olders boys were on Spring Break. So we decided to take a quick trip to Indianapolis for a long weekend. Out of the five of us my husband was the only one who has been and we haven’t taken a family trip since last summer so we thought it was the perfect plan. We left on a Wednesday evening and were there through Saturday. It was a pretty easy drive (about 4.5 hours) and we stayed just outside the city, which was perfect. The night we arrived we quickly got checked into the room so the kids could go swimming. The cold water didn’t stop them from having so much fun, especially our youngest who is almost 2.5.
The next day was our first official day in Indy. We went to breakfast a delicious spot, Good Morning Mama’s, and on our way back to the hotel we stopped by a cool mural so I could capture my guys. After that we went to Defy trampoline park and that evening to the Children’s Museum and dinner at Weber Grill downtown. It was a super fun packed day and the best part was seeing all the fun the boys were having. There is seriously nothing better than seeing your kids having the best time! Friday was a little rainy during the day so we decided to go to a movie, Dumbo, and ended up exploring downtown Indy that evening before having an amazing dinner at Harry & Izzy’s. Our last day we had breakfast at the hotel and then headed back downtown for another walk around the city and then lunch at Sugar Fire BBQ. If you know our family, especially my husband, then you know we have to find a bbq place whenever we’re in a new city.
The trip was such a blast and I think one of the best parts was seeing how big our boys’ hearts are when they decided to give their dinner leftovers from Friday to a homeless man that night. A weekend away exploring a new city was just what our family needed! Thank you to my wonderful husband for planning such a fun trip and for always working so hard so we can do trips like this one. We love you!!! xo
